Operation Guide for Advanced Parenteral Nutrition Care Model

The advanced parenteral nutrition nursing model is a highly realistic teaching device used for training in intravenous nutrition support techniques, mainly to help nursing staff master the preparation, operation and maintenance processes of parenteral nutrition proficiently.  The model adopts an appearance and anatomical structure close to that of a real patient, and is equipped with a punctable central venous catheterization or peripheral venous access, capable of simulating the entire process of total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and partial parenteral nutrition (PPN) infusion.

1.Simulate normal adult male size, accurate and real anatomical structure, translucent design is conducive for sterical observation of internal skeleton, blood vessel,  heart and part of lungs;

2.Transparent design for clear observation of internal jugular vein and subclavian venous channel;

3.Cutaneous covering in the puncture site of right side chest;

4.The heart part can be opened to see the tricuspid valve with red marker

Before operation, check the composition and dosage of the nutrient solution according to the doctor's instructions, complete hand hygiene and wear sterile gloves.  After checking the patency of the infusion pathway, use aseptic operation techniques to connect the infusion device and ensure that the pipeline is sealed without air bubbles.  During the infusion process, the infusion speed and pathway status can be monitored through the model, and measures can be taken when risks such as tube blockage, leakage or infection are simulated.  The training content also includes key care points such as tube fixation, infusion set replacement and prevention of phlebitis.

Some advanced models are equipped with an electronic feedback system that can simulate the patient's vital signs and infusion responses, helping trainees judge and adjust the operation plan in the context.  Through repeated practice on this model, nursing staff can enhance the standardization and safety of parenteral nutrition infusion and effectively reduce the risk of clinical complications.
