The pediatric bone puncture model is a simulation device used to train medical staff in mastering the techniques of pediatric bone marrow cavity puncture and infusion. It is often used in emergency rescue and teaching training. Its operation steps usually include the following aspects:
First, make preoperative preparations, check the child's information, explain the purpose of the operation, and prepare the puncture needle, disinfectant, fixation tape and infusion equipment, etc.
Secondly, select an appropriate puncture site. Common sites are below the tibial nodule or at the distal end of the femur. During operation, strict sterility should be maintained. First, perform routine disinfection on the puncture site and cover it with a sterile cloth.
Then, the surgeon holds the child's lower limb with one hand and, with the other hand, slowly and forcefully rotates and inserts the bone puncture needle vertically or slightly inclined towards the bone surface until a "breakthrough sensation" is felt as it enters the bone marrow cavity. When it is confirmed that blood can be returned or a small amount of normal saline can be injected smoothly, it indicates that the puncture was successful.
Finally, connect the infusion pipeline and properly fix the puncture needle to prevent it from slipping off. Through the training of this model, trainees can repeatedly practice, improving their operational proficiency and clinical emergency response capabilities.
